  My wife and I were in the neighborhood and decided to give them a try, especially since we love supporting small businesses. I am a Red Velvet connoisseur and discovered that they have Red Velvet on the menu, so naturally I had to try it. I was extremely upset and disappointed because the Red Velvet cupcake that they sale is literally chocolate cake with red food coloring. IT IS NOT TRADITIONAL RED VELVET! Even the cream cheese icing was far too sweet. If i wanted chocolate cupcakes, I would've ordered that. Anyone who knows red velvet cake will agree with me wholeheartedly. And FYI, traditional red velvet is bright red, not dark red... So, if you have a taste for chocolate, get their red velvet. I will not return and I will be sure to tell all of my family and friend's to stay away from Smallcakes, especially if they want Red Velvet!

  The absolute best red velvet cupcakes in the Charlotte/Huntersville area I have tasted. Always fresh and stays fresh for several days!!

  The cupcakes are fun and tasty. They never look open though and I passed it by twice thinking they were closed, they could highly benefit from an open sign. I've seen people use frequent buyer cards and I've been 4 times and have never been offered one...I don't see them out front it's just frustrating to see the person in front of you use it and not even have it offered. I feel weird asking because no one has ever been overly friendly. I keep coming back because the icing is awesome.
